REFERENCE TO STATE NUTRITION ADEQUACY RATE PERCENTAGE ON THE FOOD PRODUCT LABEL

Attachment
Considering:
- a. that foods that are accompanied with statement contains vitamins, minerals, and or other nutrition agents that are added in foods that are obliged to be added with vitamins, minerals and or other nutrition agents are obliged to state information on nutrition content;
- b. that information on nutrition content must be stated in percentage of recommended nutrition adequacy rate;
- c. that a nutrition adequacy rate which can be used as a reference to state percentage of nutrition adequacy rate is not stipulated yet;
- d. that in relation to items a, b and c above, it is necessary to stipulate a reference to state nutrition adequacy rate percentage on the food product label with a Decision of the Head of National Agency of Drug and Food Control;
In view of:
- 1. Law No. 23/1992 on Health Affairs (Statute Book of 1992 No. 100, Supplement to Statute Book No. 3495);
- 2. Law No. 7/1996 on Food (Statute Book Of the Republic of Indonesia of 1996 No. 99, Supplement to Statute Book No. 3656);
- 3. Government Regulation No. 69/1999 on Food Label and Advertisement (Statute Book Of the Republic of Indonesia of 1999 No. 131, Supplement to Statute Book No. 3867);
- 4. Presidential Decree No. 103/2001 on Status, Duties, Functions, Authorities, Organisational Structure and Work Procedures of Non Departmental Government Institutions as amended by Presidential Decree No. 46/2002;
- 5. Presidential Decree No. 110/2001 on Organisation Unit and Duties of Echelon I in Non Departmental Government Institutions, as amended by Presidential Decree No. 5/2002;
- 6. Decree of the Minister of Health RI No. 913/Menkes/SK/VIII/2002 on Recommended Nutrition Adequacy Rate for Indonesian Nation.
DECIDES:
To Stipulate:
First:
Decision of the Head of National Agency of Drug and Food Control on Reference To State Nutrition Adequacy Rate Percentage On the Food Product Label.
Second:
Information on nutrition content must be must be stated in percentage of the recommended nutrition adequacy rate
Third:
Statement of percentage of nutrition adequacy rate must comply with the Reference To State Nutrition Adequacy Rate Percentage on the Food Product Label.
Fourth:
Nutrition adequacy rate for general reference of food labeling is as specified in Attachment I to this Decision.
Fifth:
Nutrition adequacy rate for food labeling reference that is designated to babies/children aged 4 (four) months up to 24 (twenty four) months is as listed in Attachment II to this Decision.
Sixth:
Nutrition adequacy rate for food labeling reference that is designated to babies/children aged 2 (two) years up to 5 (five) years is as listed in Attachment III to this Decision.
Seventh:
This decision shall come to effect as of the stipulation date.
